Prepare yourself for a creepy and enticingly psychological series soon to hit Netflix next week. Debuting on January 13, Neil Patrick Harris stars in the new series A Series of Unfortunate Events. Set to follow the story line of the books – and movie – there is plenty riding on this series as a testament to fans everywhere, and for new fans craving that scary excitement.

Harris will be playing Count Olaf (I know, we’re excited too) while there are plenty of new names starring in the show. Usman Ally (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) is set to play the Hook-Handed Man while Matty Cardarople (The Big Sick) plays the Henchperson of Indetermined Gender and John DeSantis (Van Helsing) plays the Bald Man. As for the kids Klaus and Violet Baudelaire, they’re played by Louis Hynes and Malina Weissman (Nine Lives).

While there are plenty of new names, we sure are excited to see some familiar faces guest starring in certain episodes. Anyone from Catherine O’Hara – who’s playing Dr. Georgina Orwell – to Alfre Woodward (Luke Cage) – playing Aunt Josephine – will provide some great entertainment. Also set to guest star for a few episodes include Joan Cusack as Justice Strauss, Aasif Mandvi as Uncle Monty, and Patrick Warburton as the Lemony Snicket– curiously credited under “voice” which will leave us to wonder what the show has in mind.

The series will definitely have plenty of expectations to live up to, not only playing on the Daniel Handler (ie, Lemony Snicket) book series, but also considering just how eerie and sinister the fans expect the show to be. The series will recount the classic story we all know, of the Baudelaire orphans living with their evil guardian Count Olaf, who will do anything possible to gain their inheritance – yes, even that. The three (Violet, Klaus, and Sunny) outsmart their guardian’s evil plans every time and are in an endless search as to how their parents had died.

Be sure to watch the teaser below, and the new trailer after that.
