by Phil Wheat

Welcome to the latest installment of Trailer Park, our (semi) regular look at the latest trailers to hit the interwebs. This weeks line-up features a bevy of the latest movie trailers including Halo: The Fall of Reach, How To Be Single, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, Dragon Blade, Now You See Me 2, Dirty Grandpa, The Boss, Sisters, and A Monster Calls.

Halo: The Fall of Reach

Relive the origins of the Halo universe, the Spartan II program and the legendary Master Chief in this stunning animated version of one of Halo’s most beloved stories. Kidnapped in childhood and conscripted into a brutal program of military training and physical augmentation, the Spartans were designed to be the ultimate weapon in a fight against chaos and insurgency – but when a dangerous alien alliance known as the Covenant declares war on mankind, the Spartans might be our only hope.

How To Be Single

There’s a right way to be single, a wrong way to be single, and then…there’s Alice. And Robin. Lucy. Meg. Tom. David. New York City is full of lonely hearts seeking the right match, be it a love connection, a hook-up, or something in the middle. And somewhere between the teasing texts and one-night stands, what these unmarrieds all have in common is the need to learn how to be single in a world filled with ever-evolving definitions of love. Sleeping around in the city that never sleeps was never so much fun.

The Huntsman: Winter’s War

Long before the evil Queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron) was thought vanquished by Snow White’s blade, she watched silently as her sister, Freya (Emily Blunt), suffered a heartbreaking betrayal and fled their kingdom. With Freya’s ability to freeze any enemy, the young ice queen has spent decades in a remote wintry palace raising a legion of deadly huntsmen—including Eric (Chris Hemsworth) and warrior Sara (Jessica Chastain)—only to find that her prized two defied her one demand: Forever harden your hearts to love. When Freya learns of her sister’s demise, she summons her remaining soldiers to bring the Magic Mirror home to the only sorceress left who can harness its power. But once she discovers Ravenna can be resurrected from its golden depths, the wicked sisters threaten this enchanted land with twice the darkest force it’s ever seen. Now, their amassing army shall prove undefeatable…unless the banished huntsmen who broke their queen’s cardinal rule can fight their way back to one another.

Dragon Blade

Two thousand years ago, a mysterious legion of extremely fearsome warriors galloped along the famous Silk Road. Dressed in exquisitely carved amour, the legion used weapons and battle formations that had never been seen in China. The soldiers are part of a Roman legion led by General Lucius (John Cusack), marching east to protect Publius, the youngest son of Consul Crassus, from his vicious brother Tiberius (Adrien Brody;). It is publicly known that Tiberius had assassinated his father and blinded his own brother, so Lucius rescues Pubilus and heads east. After becoming lost in the desert they arrive at Wild Geese Gate, where Lucius meets Huo An (Jackie Chan), the Commander of the Silk Road Protection Squad of the Western Region. The two men – who have each been framed for treason – earn each other’s respect and form an allegiance as Tiberius eventually arrives with his army, demanding Huo An hand over Lucius and Publius or witness his forces annex China. To protect his country and to clear his name of treason, Huo An gathers all the allies of China to unite together and take on Tiberius in an epic battle that will be remembered forever.

Now You See Me 2

The Four Horsemen [Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Lizzy Caplan] return for a second mind-bending adventure, elevating the limits of stage illusion to new heights and taking them around the globe. One year after outwitting the FBI and winning the public’s adulation with their Robin Hood-style magic spectacles, the illusionists resurface for a comeback performance in hopes of exposing the unethical practices of a tech magnate. The man behind their vanishing act is none other than WALTER MABRY [Daniel Radcliffe], a tech prodigy who threatens the Horsemen into pulling off their most impossible heist yet. Their only hope is to perform one last unprecedented stunt to clear their names and reveal the mastermind behind it all.

Dirty Grandpa

Jason Kelly (Zac Efron) is one week away from marrying his boss’s uber-controlling daughter, putting him on the fast track for a partnership at the law firm. However, when the straight-laced Jason is tricked into driving his foul-mouthed grandfather, Dick (Robert De Niro), to Daytona for spring break, his pending nuptials are suddenly in jeopardy. Between riotous frat parties, bar fights, and an epic night of karaoke, Dick is on a quest to live his life to the fullest and bring Jason along for the ride. Ultimately, on the wildest journey of their lives, “dirty” Grandpa and his uptight grandson discover they can learn from one another and form the bond they never had.

The Boss

Academy Award-nominated star Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids, The Heat, Tammy) headlines The Boss as a titan of industry who is sent to prison after she’s caught for insider trading. When she emerges ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart, not everyone she screwed over is so quick to forgive and forget.

Sisters

The new film from Pitch Perfect director Jason Moore about two disconnected sisters summoned home to clean out their childhood bedroom before their parents sell the family house. Looking to recapture their glory days, they throw one final high-school-style party for their classmates, which turns into the cathartic rager that a bunch of ground-down adults really need.

A Monster Calls

A visually spectacular drama from acclaimed director Juan Antonio Bayona, based on the award-winning children’s fantasy novel. 12-year-old Conor (Lewis MacDougall) attempts to deal with his mother’s (Felicity Jones) illness and the bullying of his classmates by escaping into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales that explore courage, loss, and faith. Also featuring Liam Neeson who will star in performance-capture and voiceover as the nocturnally visiting monster of the title, and Sigourney Weaver as the maternal grandmother.
