So, we’re almost there. The biggest professional wrestling show of the year is about to happen, WrestleMania XXX, and so, before it does happen, let’s take a look at the matches that are currently being planned for the New Orleans supershow on April 7th.

WWE confirmed a couple of weeks ago that there would be a two hour pre-show airing on YouTube, WWE.com and the WWE Network in various ways. The pre-show is set to include an star-panel that will discuss the upcoming matches and give their thoughts. We will also get some pre-show in-ring action to wet our appetite for the main card.

WrestleMania XXX Pre-show Match

WWE Tag Team Title Four Corner’s Match – The Uso’s (c) vs. Ryback & Axel vs. Los Matadores vs. The Real Americans

The WWE tag team division has been fantastic over the last 12 months, and it is nice to see four tag teams heading into the title match this year, with other teams in other areas of the card too. It isn’t so good however that this match has been bumped to the pre-show, meaning that hard working guys like Cesaro and The Uso’s wont be able to appear on the main card. The outcome of this one is between two teams in my view, either The Real Americans, who are long deserving of a run as champions, or a retaining of the belts by The Uso’s. I tend to edge more towards Jimmy and Jay due to the fact that WWE creative seem to be on the verge of splitting Swagger and Cesaro up. Still, this is a match that could be won by any of the teams, depending on what WWE wants to do coming out of WrestleMania, making this an interesting match, and a definate welcome addition to this year’s event.

Who will win? The Uso’s

WrestleMania XXX Main Card

The Andre the Giant Memorial 30 Man Battle Royale

This match was announced by Hulk Hogan on RAW a few weeks back and may become an annual WrestleMania occurance. Featuring 30 superstars, many of which have been revealed at this point, which include Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, Mark Henry, The Miz and 26 others, the winner of this big spectacle of a match will win the Andre the Giant memorial trophy. This is very old-school in concept and a nice way to get a bunch of guys on to the ‘Mania card that otherwise wouldn’t have been. The winner could be anyone really, depending on who WWE want to push coming out of ‘Mania, but I can’t help but think that they want a giant to come out victorious here.

Who will win? The Big Show

Vickie Guerrero Invitational – WWE Divas Championship Match: AJ Lee (c) vs. Naomi vs. Cameron vs. Natalya vs. Brie Bella vs. Nikki Bella vs. Aksana vs. Alicia Fox vs. Emma vs. Eva Marie vs. Summer Rae vs. Layla vs. Rosa vs. Tamina Snuka

Vickie Guerrero set up this match on RAW a couple of weeks back as punishment for AJ Lee’s insulting words on an episode of Smackdown. This match gets most of WWE’s main roster women on the card which is a nice thing, and it could be an ok match if time is given to certain people and it isn’t merely a cluster-mess. I think a member of the Total Divas show might come out on top here, ending AJ’s very long reign as champion.

Who will win? Naomi

Grudge Match – Kane & The New Age Outlaws vs. The Shield

Rumours have said that The Outlaws requested a program with The Shield before the faction goes their separate ways, and so we were given a six man match featuring Kane as well. This should be a decent match because Kane can pull out some good performances, even at this point in his career, and The Shield are three of the best workers in WWE today. The Outlaws are my concern though, they blow up quickly nowadays and the fans are kinda sick of their current run. Still, The Shield should get a chance to shine on the main stage and show why they are the best promoted faction since Evolution. No way will The Shield lose, unless it is to signify their split as a group.

Who will win? The Shield

Grudge Match – John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt

The feud between Cena and Wyatt began in January at the Royal Rumble PPV when The Wyatt Family caused John Cena to lose against Randy Orton as he challenged for Orton’s WWE World Title. The feud was then ignored in February while The Wyatt’s took to the stage with The Shield and reignited afterwards when Bray and Company attacked John on RAW. For the last few weeks we have heard the riddle-esque promo work from Wyatt, and Cena declare that he is afraid of Bray and his family. It would help Wyatt in a big way to get a win over WWE’s franchise player on the biggest stage of them all, but unfortunately part of me can’t see it happening. Still, with a card in which I feel many babyface acts will pick up a victory, and Bray Wyatt needing to hold onto momentum heading out of this event, I’m going to go against my gut instinct and predict a win from the guy who should win., If it does happen like this then I applaud WWE and John Cena for making a good decision.

Who will win? Bray Wyatt

The Beast vs. The Streak – The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar (w/Paul Heyman)

This is the only match at WrestleMania in which I am sure of the outcome, but then again it’s the same every year and has been for a long time now. The Undertaker’s streak is a big selling point for WrestleMania, and until ‘Taker hangs up the black hat, the streak will remain intact. His final battle at ‘Mania is going to be interesting, but until then, The Undertaker will win his matches. This might be a cracking fight with some good crowd reactions. I hope they put a lot of work into this, because it will take a lot to be on par with ‘Taker’s last five or six years of WrestleMania matches. Anyway, regardless of the close falls and false finishes, there is only one choice for winner here.

Who will win? The Undertaker

Winner is added to the WWE World Title Main Event – Triple H vs. Daniel Bryan

The Cerebral Assassin versus The American Dragon. The Game versus The Dazzler. The King of Kings versus The Leader of the Yes Movement. Triple H versus Daniel Bryan. If any match at WrestleMania is going to steal the show and ignite the crowd, this one is it. With so much on the line for Bryan here, you can bet that the crowd will add a lot to this contest. It makes no sense for Triple H to win here, pure and simple, so Bryan is surely winning this, and I think the two will put on a hell of a match. We could see interference here too, but regardless, if Bryan doesn’t win then many customers will be ready to boo the heck out of the main event, that’s for sure.

Who will win? Daniel Bryan

Triple Threat WWE World Title Match – Randy Orton (c) vs. Batista vs. ???

If I go with my heart and say that Daniel Bryan will defeat Triple H, then it means he will be a part of this match alongside Royal Rumble winning Batista, and WWE World Champ, Randy Orton. There is an argument for each of these men having a chance to leave ‘Mania as champion, but only one outcome, in this writers view, makes sense. Daniel Bryan should get his big win here, his revenge on Orton and Batista, his revenge on The Authority, and his chance to shine and pick up a big victory when the cards are stacked against his favour. Batista could win, depending on whether or not WWE want to stick with their likely original plans, but I think it would be a big downer for the fans watching live, and on PPV, to see anyone other than Bryan leaving this big show as WWE World Champion. It could be an image for the ages, with Daniel standing tall, the titles over his shoulders, as the New Orleans crowd chants, alongside their chosen guy, yes, yes, yes.

Who will win? Daniel Bryan
__________

So, there are my thoughts and predictions of this year’s WrestleMania card. I have been wrong plenty of times with my predictions, and that doesn’t upset me, it makes me smile. I like when wrestling, and WWE, suprises me. This years’ show could be a massive one, with a wonderful, crowd pleasing moment to end it. Let’s hope that happens, and WWE, for the first time in quite a while, send the fans home happy from one of their pay per view shows.

Until next time!
